I know, that Christmas in July is not a good title for an album with Christmas tunes, but there is a lot of histories around the recording of this CD, that probably could clarify why this title.
We own this record to our friend Alan Taylor, co-editor of the British Mag âPipelineâ, since one dinnertime with him at the Traders Vic Restaurant in London, when he asked me why Los Jets never recorded a Christmas album along his musical career. In fact I don´t know why we didnât so far, maybe because it is too much recording two albums a year or because if you want to have a Christmas album to sale in December you have to record it in July, and I guarantee you that it seems very strange wearing sandals and bath suits, while recording âSilent nightâ .
Now, I recall Kenny Rogers, when having a dinner with him and Chet Atkins in Nashville, Kenny told me that what he hates most was recording Christmas albums in July.

So we did the recording during this summer of 2008, with sandals, many beers, and swimming pool, while we went recording themes like âSleight rideâ, or âWinter wonderlandâ, very chocking!!. We started the album in July and we finished in September, suffering more than 40ºC, outside the studio, of course.

Javier Honrubia on keyboards.
Yuke Salinder on bass.
Rafael Luque on guitars.

I made the drumming, the production and the recording, and Los Jets made the arrangements of the themes.
Now you are the one to judge if we did a good job or not.
