Details:
Born & raised in Ottawa as the youngest of 6 children (which meant many traumatic years of sitting in the corner at the supper table), and a purveyor of the lost 20th Century art of songwriting, Sean Peever is one of the finest singer-songwriters on the Ottawa scene. From power pop to folk to soul to ska/reggae, his willingness to serve the song first & foremost results in a voice that can be lending a soulful urgency to one song while singing with grace and delicacy on another, combined with a fleet fingerpicking/energetic strumming guitar style. Van Morrison shaking hands with Richard Thompson would be a fairly accurate description.

A regularly featured performer as a solo artist and with The Sean Peever Band in Ottawa at D'Arcy McGee's, The Cajun Attic, Café Dekcuf, The Manx, The Parliament Pub, The Elbow Room & The Dunvegan Pub, and in the Kingston area at Tir Nan Og & The Bookstore Café, as well as being a mainstay of the Quinte Spirit Festival in Napanee, Ont. for 6 years running, Sean released his first album, "Love On The Transitway", in April of 2003. He has also been featured in the February/March 2002 & August 2003 issues of Ottawa Life magazine, and The Ottawa Sun newspaper in May of 2003. He has performed many times on "Daytime" on Rogers Cable TV in Ottawa. One of his performances was featured on "Daytime" 's Best of 2002 retrospective. He has also performed on the Ottawa-area's "Breakfast @The New RO" TV program, as well as guesting on CKCU Radio's "Window Of Opportunity" & "Village Idioms". He also does a mean Homer & Grandpa Simpson, and considers this his greatest achievement.

In his songs, favourite films, actresses from long ago, high school crushes. the autumn, May/December relationships, & Curtis Mayfield are given loving tribute, the ignoble world of contract work is put in its place, schoolyard bullies get their comeuppance later in life, suburban soccer moms are lusted after, Joni Mitchell album covers remind one of a lost love, famous sidekicks get their revenge, people from a small town long to escape to the big city, World War I veterans tell of their experiences to eager young cub reporters, fear of being old & alone keeps a woman from leaving a bad relationship, a man witnesses a murder and never tells anyone, people fall in love amid the concrete ugliness of transit systems, small children are terrorized by their fathers' repeated viewing of alien abduction documentaries, and the world truly is a crowded bus where the rich sit down and the poor stand up.
