When it comes to her songs, twenty-four year old Jessica Penrose likes to be as naked as possible. With a deep brooding piano and sweetly sullen guitar, she admits, " I think one thing or another has always haunted me. I try to bring out the pain that is the joy in life. Often times it is our hardest experiences that we hold most sacred."
In person Jessica is actually fairly optimistic, but in her art and music she allows herself to be inexplicitly honest and forthright about the emotions that, she says, decorate life. Jessica Penrose's songs transcend the female singer-songwriter genre with refreshing honesty about love, loss, and the darker sides of life. She is currently writing and producing her first full length CD entitled Eve's Fault, which is due out early next year.
