The Authentic Moon Ska series is devoted to presenting Ska music made by the original Jamaican Ska musicians.

This album features The Supersonics who include members of the legendary Skatalites, like Roland Alphonso, Lloyd Brevett, Devon James, Lester Sterling and vocalist Doreen Shaeffer, who not only sings back up vocals but also coached Tricia for this CD.

Guided by Ska master King Bravo, the Supersonics have recorded 10 tracks of traditional, rootsy Ska that will knock your socks off! Seven of these songs feature vocals by Tricia Grant ( a former Miss Jamaica), who actually sounds like a dead ringer for Skatalites vocalist Doreen Shaeffer, the rest of the tracks are smokin instrumentals and interesting re-workings just like the old days in Jamaica. This release is essential for every real Ska fan!

Ska Trivia note: The Skatalites name was only chosen after rejecting the name Supersonics, although members of the Skatalites did record under the name The Supersonics, depending for what recording label they were actually recording for!
