ROCK: Instrumental Rock, ROCK: Hard Rock

Details:
Pete was born in Burlington, Vermont to a very non-musical family, but had to buy a guitar when he heard Van Halen for the first time. By the mid '80s, Pete became consumed by guitarists such as George Lynch, Steve Vai, Randy Rhoads, Greg Howe, David Gilmour, Vinnie Moore, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Steve Morse.

While in college, Pete's musical interests expanded to jazz and fusion and he played in both a heavy metal cover band and the school jazz ensemble. Pete graduated in 1990 with a B.S. in Communications and a minor in music.

Over the next few years, Pete performed in various projects throughout northern New England and then North Carolina. In 1994, he relocated to Baltimore, Maryland and soon formed "Kurgan's Bane." The "Bane" is a progressive hard rock project in which he is still involved today. They recorded their demo CD entitled "Search from Sea to Sea" in 1997. After changing singers they recorded "The Future Lies Broken," which was released by Record Heaven (Sweden) in 2000.

In the summer of 2001, Pete decided to compile some of the music he'd written over the years that didn't quite match the style of the Bane and record an all-instrumental CD. He recruited his brother/drummer Jeff Laramee (Kurgan's Bane and Sonus Umbra), bass player Luis Nasser (Kurgan's Bane and Sonus Umbra), and bass player "Big" Mike Galway (Uncle Gut and Dysfunctional Family). They recorded all of the tracks at Secret Sound Studios in Baltimore, which is where Dennis Chambers, Illuvatar, Carl Fillipiak, and many other well-known progressive, rock, and jazz musicians have called home.

The music is guitar-based instrumental rock with a mix of jazz, classical, and Latin. Pete decided to release his CD entitled "Alone, But Not Lonely" with the newly formed Out of Phase Records.
