Deep in the belly of a San Francisco garage is his studio. It's called The Electric Chair. It's lined with black velvet theater curtains and dotted with glow-in-the-dark stars, moons and gargoyles. Yellow dragon eyes gaze out from the book-shelves and counter tops. Lava lamps and magical light fountains provide most of the light to work by. Most of the light. But in a world of sound, light is but an accessory. If you need to grab for a pencil or pepsi
you will be assisted by the glow of duel computer monitors that are the looking glass into the world of sound created by the artist. The Electric Chair is the studio and comfort zone of Pfilbryte.

PFILBRYTE is the San Francisco-based producer/artist (and grandson of Walter Lantz, the creator of Woody Woodpecker) who has been called "a tech-head wonder child of Generation Next" (BAM Magazine.) Using the time-honored technique of maxing-out all credit cards in order to get the gear, Bright built a state-of-the-art, dungeon-like music studio. "The Chair is not for every-one, but it works for me." And it has. His work has gotten him several record deals (Tommy Boy and Beyond Music), spins on MTV, MTV-1 and MTV's Real World, the lead song on the Pepsi promotional album, and winner of Battle-of-the-Bands radio contests across the country (one such contest in New Jersey had to disqualify PFILBRYTE for over-winning.)

Yet a mystique surrounds PFILBRYTE. And why shouldn't it. PFILBRYTE writes, plays most of the instruments, sings, programs the beats, records, engineers, and on and on. PFILBRYTE is cursed with the problem of being too versatile which tends to make him difficult to define.

His first album "Imperfection" (Fusi Pumper/Tommy Boy) categorized PFILBRYTE as a techie producer/DJ. After having contributed live instrumentation and sounds for Dr.Octagon to the classic Octagynecologyst LP, a virtual who's who of mix assistedwith PFILBRYTE's first 12" of"Merry Go Round" (featuring remixes by The Automator, superstar DJ Scotty Hardkiss of the Hardkiss Brothers, Cirrus and NYC mixmaster C. Flam.)

In his second album entitled Denied PFILBRYTE's years of running with the San Francisco's electronica community are applied to the only things that really matter: great songs. In Denied PFILBRYTE uses a band in search of new sounds and to get back to his love of live music. After recording 56 songs in 4 months, the cream rose to the top producing a stunningly crisp audio-cocktail, intoxicating and enlightening (You should try it on headphones!) A Hip-hop/Beatles sound swirls around songs that expose the problem (Get-up) and others that offer the solution(Anything).
