The Pharmacy Prophets began as an acoustic collaboration that blossomed into a full-blown rock band of the highest order. The CD features huge choruses, intelligent lyrics and walls of vocals, with emotional lead singing and lilting, harmonious background singing. The Pharmacy Prophets have quickly established themselves as a top original band in the DC area. The single "Century" was a top 10 download from the Washington Post's website for ten straight weeks, and their notorious "Pop Quiz" interview in the Washington City Paper has been hailed as the "Best Ever" by the readers. They are also very active in the Arlington music community, as they organized and were featured in the Alternative House Benefit concert at the historic, 800-capacity State Theatre in Falls Church, VA on September 25.
In January 2004, "Songs of Death and Happiness" was nominated for the Rock Recording of the Year award from the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA).
