St. Catherine's Church in Westford Massachusetts has a vibrant Music Ministry embracing many styles of liturgical and worship music. Our first CD, âChristmas Hopeâ was recorded in 2008 as a fund-raiser to help retire the parish debt. The songs on the CD are performed in a variety of styles from a capella to full ensemble with organ, guitars pianos and flutes. Some are solos and some are performed by ensembles including a traditional choir, a junior choir, an instrumental group (flute, violin and piano) and a contemporary ensemble. There are several Christmas favorites and some more rare pieces including the Irish piece, âWexford Carol,â an instrumental version of the haunting âCoventry Carol,â and a setting of âI Wonder As I Wander.â Also included is a new composition entitled âLord of Light,â based on the Breton Celtic tune, âL'Hertiere de Keroulaz.â
