Phil Townsend has been active in the music industry since the late sixties. He was a singer in Detroit up until the age of fifteen. He appeared in a number of local amateur shows along with nationally known artist as Marvin Gaye, Little Willie John, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Jackie Wilson and many others. He won a number of these contest. But, for some reason he always ended up on the business end of the music business. He was responsible for many hit records. Among them were Barry White, (I Got So Much to Give), (What's Going On) by Marvin Gaye and (Seems Like I Got To Do Wrong) by the Whispers. He was responsible for the sales, promotion and marketing of these hits. Now he has finally accomplished his dream of singing, writing, and producing this particular album. This was a labor of love.
