Pickathon Live: Volume 2 is compilation of the artists from the Pickathon Roots Music Festival that occurred at Horning's Hideout outside Portland Oregon on September 29th 2001.

The Pickathon is a yearly roots music festival that is organized by local musicians and volunteers. All proceeds benefit KBOO community radio in Portland, which is the main radio media outlet that promotes most of these artist's music.

The idea behind the Pickathon is to coherently involve musicians from a variety of genres (Bluegrass, Blues, Cajun, Country, Celtic, Folk, Roots Rock, Western Swing, Tex-Mex, Swing, etc..) that are truly contributing to the regional and national roots music scene. Artists that have played in the past include Dirk Powell, Laurie Lewis, Kelly Joe Phelps, Baby Gramps, Danny Barnes, Darol Anger, Tony Furtado, Seamus Egan, Casey Neill, Freak Mountain Ramblers, Mark Graham, Kevin Burke, Sam Hill, 78RPM, Dickel Brothers, Foghorn Stringband, Scott Nygaard, Holy Modal Rounders, Spigot, Terry Robb, Tye North, Jackstraw, Harebrained, Countrypolitans, and Little Sue just to name a few.
