Political Pushover is a 4-Piece Punk Band from Lehi, Ut. We blend Punk, Rock, Hardcore, and Emo with Social Commentary and Positive Ideas to make fast-paced, upbeat, feel-good music. That mixed with our intense live shows and traditional Punk Rock D.I.Y. attitude make us a force to be reckoned with.
We've played with acts such as The Lost City Angels, Thought Riot, The Pansy Division, Death By Stereo, RX Bandits, Glasseater, Jupiter Sunrise, Western Waste, The River City Rebels, Endless Struggle, The Used, any many more.
The Album "The Phoenix Rises" is the sum of 5 years of hard work, touring, and disaster, after more than 14 members later we finally have gotten the results we wanted. The Phoenix Rises was recorded from March to August 2003 at several different locations around our hometown, by our friend Joel Pack. Who is just amazing at what he does. He turned this album into a masterpiece by not only recording, mixing and mastering it, but by helping us produce it as well. The Songs on this album where written by Political Pushover(Robbie, Brandon, Ben, Jason, Colby, and Greg) from 2001 -2003. All Lyrics where written by Brandon Rocque from 1998 - 2003. The CD was Printed and Replicated by Groove House Records. We really wanted to make this cd as good as we could. We spent alot of time and energy making things perfect. We wanted it to be an important album for our band but also for Punk Rock in general. With songs like 'It's Time,' Greed,' and 'The Great American Folly' we try and speak out against ignorance, greed, and hatred. Songs like 'The Calm Before The Storm,' 'Open Your Eyed,' 'Redemption's Dawn,' and Battle Hymn of the New Republic,' show what the error of our ways will bring about. And then songs like 'On My Knees," and 'Hope,' try and give hope to everyone for a better existence. The whole album is just has a really positive Message to it and we hope that our listeners can get those message's out of our music and have them be a positve influence in their lives!
