For most of my life, I've been interested in and fascinated by John Coltrane, the jazz musician and composer. My interst started naturally with his music (the very popular "My Favorite Things") and became more spritual at the beginning of this decade. I discovered the spritual side of Trane as it related to his pursuit of the "sound of God", Eastern sprituality and, in particular, the Hindu/Christian teachings of yogi Paramahansa Yogananda. The lyrical impressions expressed in this album culminated from meditating on his music utilizing the scientific meditation technique Kriya Yoga, taught by Yogananda. So, I feel my understanding of Coltrane has evolved from his music to a glimpse of his soul. My hope is that this slice of Trane's music attracts new listeners and adds a new dimension for the faithful fan.

Having grown up on jazz, standards and pop music of Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ella, Sarah, Billie and Johnny Mathis, I have finally found my own voice, expression and inspiration from Trane's music and spiritual essence.
