Whether a love song (It's Spring), a song about a much-abused car (Little Four-Cylinder), or a 7 minute blues-oriented meditation (Manzanita), Prim delivers spiritual insight with a down to earth attitude, and plenty of humor. His warm baritone voice and inventive fingerstyle guitar provide a base of tasty ear-candy, into which he imbeds thoughtful, articulate lyrics, and a frequently through-the-side-door perspective that keeps listeners on their toes. Drawing from influences such as Bruce Cockburn, Stephen Stills and David Wilcox, his music combines blues, country, and rock. Prim is an accomplished poet as well, and often spices his set with a few well-chosen poems between songs. His first CD "Number One" contains eleven original songs with voice, guitar and hand drums.
