The actual name of âGeryonâ (pronounced Je'rion) comes from several different historical and fictional accounts. The primary motive for choosing the name came after Daniel read Danteâs Inferno, in which Geryon was a creature who represented fraud and deception, possessing a cunning intellect allowing him to trick the minds of men.



In August of 2007 Chris Vantuyl left the band due to personal reasons. After two months of extensive searching, Jacob Wilcox landed the role as the new vocalist, ushering in the final element that would give the band its distinct sound. Following several scattered shows throughout the Bay Area for the past two years, the band signed with San Jose based indie record label Pitch Black Records. The band released their first full full-length album on October 31st 2008, and has a couple of small tours in the works. As a band, the members remain rooted in their political beliefs which they are now becoming recognized for both on and off the stage. Occasionally stirring up controversy with their thoughts does not prove to be a hindrance to the band as they are recruiting new fans with every show they play. Geryon will continue to mobilize a horde of followers in the Bay Area, and to deliver an intense live performance with every stage they take.
