The debut full-length album from The Redcoat Band (following on from the six-track 'Liberty Tree' EP, also available through CDBaby) is a heady mix of 60s beat music and psychedelia, 70s classic rock, 80s pop & alternative, and 90s Britrock, with a modern edge. Melodic guitar parts combine with cascading bass lines and thundering rhythms, with Jon Wood's distinctive hushed vocals. Haunting cellos and driving Hammond organ sounds can be heard on tracks such as 'At the Bottom of the Ocean' and 'I'd Rather Sleep', giving the record an eclectic flavour which is unified by the strong melodies and distinct ambience.
