Randi Joy's music has been described as "powerful" by her listeners. It's an emotional, original blend of classic art rock with the edge of harder-rock angst. People have compared her to a diverse range of artists, from Jefferson Airplane/Starship and Pink Floyd to Benatar and Blondie to X and PJ Harvey. The songs all tell a story, each a piece of her own personal life. Writing with honesty and integrity about real people and real experiences is at the forefront of her style. Though her outlook has been described as "dark", there is always a light of hope shining through the lyrics.

Playing since age six in Northern California, she spent about eight years as guitarist, singer, and writer for the 80s cult art band Key of Magic. Following this she joined two of producer/songwriter Mike Molenda's bands, the Soul Poets and Ascot Jacket, both offering power ballads and glam punk. The influences of these experiences are now fused into her current sound.

Now, as a recording artist, writer, producer, and owner of her own label, Randi debuts her first solo CD "Beyond the Shadows". It features the talents of San Francisco musicians Larry the O on drums, Gary Hobish on bass, Sally Lieber on vocals, Irv "Sparkey" Caplow on keys and vocals, and Tobias Hawkins III on percussion. This album is a culmination of years of experience combined with a fresh attitude, and writing for future projects is well underway.
