Mooza! Mooza Zanoo Zah. I don't think there is much, if indeed any music available today which has the diversity of musical styles included on this, my favourite Russo album so far. From the music to the lyrics to the cover-art design and virtually all instruments were recorded, written, arranged and produced by Russell Murray between November 2006 and November 2008 and features 14 compositions (selected from a SHORTlist of about 60). Although 6 of the songs on Mooza are split into 2, there are really 20 numbers on this record. Having released mostly instrumental albums, only 2 on Mooza Zanoo have no vocalZah. Several of the compositions are delightfully simple and others, too complex to ever re-create live. Months and months of preparation, schedules, studying, rehearsing and practice went into this, in order to finish it. I feel an enormous sense of relief that I ever managed to sew it all together, without going insane. Having said that, some of the tracks seemed to have a life of there own, I was merely steering them home. There is so much on this, that it's like watching a 'music-MOOvie'.Some of the lyrics for "Priscilla's grey bikini" :Remember to bring her bright raincoat and Priscilla's grey bikini. Lift the Gongo's head, put it in the bull rack, it's a bull-moose, he's so phat, we call him Mooza, Mooza Zanoo Zah. You might not hear anything quite like this EVER again. If you decide to buy Mooza Zanoo Zah, I'm absolutely positive you'll love it.
