The Rock Group RAWK DAWG, has just released their debut 2002 CD "Rock with an Attitude". The CD Features the Lead Vocals & Guitar of Jo Island. The music is RAW ROCK with a classic rock appeal, having been compared to AC/DC, BONJOVI, Bob Segar etc. Recorded throughout 2001 in the Beach Cities of the South Bay, Los Angeles, the lyrics & music flowed from the evening life and relationships. Hard Edged, in your face Rock Story Songs, that have been referred to as unpolished Gems of Rock.

I Received the RAWK DAWG 'Rock With An Attitude' CD. Upon listening, it grabbed me right away. There's a nice raw, gutsy drive to the music. It had me thinking it kind of sounds like a cross between Lou Reed and a raw John Mellencamp. I 'dig' it !!! Would definitely like to do an e-interview for an issue of Outer Shell.

RAWK DAWG was formed in 2001 with the members:
Jo Island - Vocals & Guitar Malibu, California
Evan Chuley: Bass Blackpool, England
Justin Case: Guitar Hermosa Beach, California
Mia Ana: Drums. Maui, Hawaii

This is a band with a Hard Edged Rock Attitude. The musicians come together for this RAWK DAWG project and take on its irreverent persona. The Band is emotionally Raw, and plays from the gut drawing from their diverse backgrounds in commercial music. The influence of several classic rock acts can be heard throughout the straight-ahead approach they take.

The CD is receiving airplay in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Germany & Nigeria on commercial & college radio stations. The group is in the studio working on the follow up CD and are not currently touring.
