The National Geoffrey finished Odessa Mama in 2006. Well, it's finally available. Here's why it took so long...

Originally intended as a ten-song CD, it got interesting when, in 2007, "Rex Fargo" stepped in with his quirky brand of electronic music. As ridiculous as some of it is, it has its own unique..."charm." So it was decided that his "music" would simply be added onto the end of Odessa Mama. Yes, it's true!

What we have here, then, are two very different styles on one CD...

The soulful, stirring, thought-provoking, dynamic, ironic, soft-yet-hard spiritually motivated songs, written over the course of several years and in various parts of the Northern hemisphere. Cape Wrath (1997) was written on a ship in the North Sea; Sad Larry (2001) was written in Portland, ME; Eyes Have Shown (2004) was finished in that cabin in North Georgia.

Credit and thanks must be given to Dan Bullard (drums on tracks 6 & 8), Brian Schoner (bass on tracks 6 & 8) and David Mayne (drums on track 2 and 4)

Then we have Rex Fargo, who actually started out as a joke. All his stuff was created between 2007 and 2008, whenever he "had the time" or "felt like it." Ridiculous person. Really, his "music" is only included because I feel sorry for him.

But hey check it out. Might be fun!
