Details:
The Rubber Burning Hotrods are the best accident to ever happen to rock music. All of the Hotrods lived in a restroom stop called Sandy, Oregon on the road to a ski resort. Mike and Nick Hotrod were best friends and in a band with a guy named Travis, who well intentioned had trouble following directions. When Nick asked Travis to pick up their bass player and show up at noon one Saturday, Travis picked up different Josh, who also happened to play bass and delivered him at 7AM. Josh Hotrod (the one who was picked up) is a man who dislikes confrontation so he grabbed his bass without question and got in a car to go rehearse with a band he wasn't in.

That was the birth of the Rubber Burning HotRods.

The Hotrod's music is the rock equivalent to putting a Ferrari engine in a '72 Ford Pinto with no muffler: Insanely powerful and high performance yet ugly, loud and apt to explode on impact.

Each of the guys have extensive musical backgrounds. Mike Hotrod (drums) and Nick Hotrod (guitar and vocals) played in the Sandy High School jazz band together. When they weren't fluffing their mullets and practicing Dave Brubeck's "Take Five," they formed a punk rock band called the Vulgar Boys, which had no bass player. After three under-appreciated albums (Up the Butt, The Love Doctor and Renegades) the Vulgar Boys disbanded and that was when destiny delivered bassist and back-up vocalist Josh Hotrod to the band.

Nick, Mike and Josh played together under different band names and different styles (80's New Wave, grunge, Jazz, Blues, Progressive Rock) but it wasn't until Nick left for a couple of years of reprogramming in the military, Josh left for his bachelors in music education and Mike became gainfully employed in the criminal justice system that they evolved into the unstoppable juggernaut known as the Rubber Burning Hotrods. Now with Josh being a musical aficionado, Mike being entrusted with the responsibility of defending the citizenry against the evils of the world and Nick being given the ability to snap to attention and write whinny, bitchy rock tunes, the Hotrods were finally ready for world conquest.

The Rubber Burning Hotrods, stationed in Portland, Oregon rock crowds all over the northwest with their fusion of rock-a-billy, funk and punk. The Hotrods released their debut album, Chop Shoppe in early 2002.
