Details:
Heidi Haase began playing the hammered dulcimer when she was 11 years old and made her first recording at age 16. She is continuing the tradition of folk music passed down from her Appalachian and European ancestors. One greatgrandmother played the appalachian dulcimer with a chicken bone and a turkey feather. A grandfather played the jaw harp and harmonica.
Now a college graduate Heidi continues to record, compose and play for live events in church ministry, weddings and other events. Many people are surprised to learn that Heidi plays all her music by ear. She does not need to read music. The music is inside her. She hears it then plays it!
Heidi's unique style can be described as classy-folk. Listeners describe her music as relaxing and soothing.
Heidi's younger sisters join her with the folk harp and guitar. Other friends play whistle, violin, oboe, cello, mandolin, and uilleann pipes.
Heidi has sold over 18,000 CD's. She has fans all over the world, but she does not seek to be famous. She just wants to serve others and be a blessing wherever she goes.
