Guinean Musician/ Artist, Yarie Toure, 37, started her singing career as a teenager attending elementary school, Ecole Martyr De Conakry. She remembered her uncle refusing to allow her be a singer and dancer, something she really love, but âI used to hide my dance cloths in my books bag to go for dance practice,â she said.

In the late 70s, she joined the Guinean National Cultural Troop established by the late President, Sekou Toure, rising to the rank as one of the best young singer and dancers in Conakry.

As a member of a singing group in Conakry, she was invited to perform at several social gatherings, such as wedding and baby naming ceremonies to do praise singing.

In 2002, she released her first successful album âNyigiâ which became a big hit in Guinea. She received the âBest Female Artist Awardâ for the Nyigi Album in 2003.
She also traveled throughout Guinea promoting her album in 2003 and 2004.

Her album, âLa Mariyanaiseâ released in 2007 won several local and international awards making her one of the best loved and prolific artists to come out of Guinea in recent time. Since then, she has traveled and performed in Europe, United States at the invitations of Guinean living in these countries.

Yarie Toure is married and has a son 21 and a daughter 14, both lived in Guinea.
