An acoustically driven, dangerously original, revolution-in-the-making syle of music, cleverly disguised as three harmless brothers.
The Redding Brothers produce a smooth blend of acoustic rock that has been compared to a game of Twister between the Barenaked Ladies, Dave Matthews Band, and 3 Doors Down. No word yet on who wins, but this sound has been enchanting people from Seattle to New York. Including the brothers themselves.
"Sometimes I get so lost in the music," Micah states, "that I fall asleep onstage."
Other than the random nap, though, the Reddings have been playing up a storm. Regional venues such as HYAMP, the Brickhouse, the Huntington Mall, the Chilton House, Taylor Books, Capitol Roaster's Cafe, Cliffhangers, Espresso Euphoria, and The Attic Club have all booked performances with the Reddings. And almost every weekend, the Reddings are off to play in Charleston, Huntington, Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, or Lexington as well.
And these places don't just book the Reddings. They rave about them.
"A crowd always shows up to listen to the Reddings," says Sheila, manager of Rendezvous Coffee House in WV. "People just walking by or talking suddenly look up and take notice when the boys start to play. They're no-nonsense guys and they respect your property and equipment, so I don't have any trouble booking them again and again."
So where does their music come from? The Brothers suggest that it might come from years spent on the road, traveling and moving cross-country more than a few times.
"A lot of our lives has been spent on the road - growing up we moved a lot because of our father's job," Josiah says. "I think maybe that's why touring and being away from home all the time really doesn't bother us at all."
Regardless, the Reddings are a creative and dynamic musical force. They've taken their music careers into their own hands, first producing two demo albums and now a full-length LP entirely by themselves, and handling all of their own booking and management.
The Redding Brothers are sure to be a smash hit wherever they go.
