The late great RED SMILEY is well known in the Bluegrass field for the contributions from the Don Reno & Red Smiley fame. This recording was made in 1968 after Red had retired from touring. It is NOT Bluegrass! Instead, it is strickly COUNTRY with some of Nashvilles top session players of that time including Jeff Newman/Pedal Steel, D.J. Fontana/Drums ( played for Elvis ) and Wade Phillips/Electric Lead Guitar.

All of the songs here had never been recorded and the album was never released. Only a 45rpm of "Best Female Actress of the Year". Then later Charlie Moore recorded a bluegrass version of the song. None of the the others have ever been recorded or even heard by anyone else. So, in 2005 Producer/Promoter Buddy Hogan went to Waynesboro, VA to meet with John Major. And this is what wound up from that meeting.
