Regeneration was born out of the renewing of ones spirit! Jeff Bailes, the singer songwriter of this group was going through a failed marriage and was in dire need to fill the void that was in his life. Lost and broken a friend invited him to church one Sunday where Jeff rededicated his life to Christ
It wasn't long until the Lord began filling me with songs of praise. I can remember working on Let's Praise The Lord! Here I was in an empty house with only a sofa, a tv and a bedroom suite but I was still able to give God all the Praise and Glory! As I danced through that empty house singing God's praises, I soon realized that true joy only comes from praising the "One" who gave me life. Within months the Lord sent me two incredible friends and musicians. Sonny Layne an exceptional bass player and Charlie Barnett a percussionist. In search of a name for the group the Lord led me to Matthew 19:28KJV where Jesus talks about the regeneration. Right then I knew our name would be Regeneration! We began traveling throughout Central Virginia. We were receiving great response doing mostly original material. A year and a half into things we felt led to add a guitarist, Rick Frutuozo and drummer Eric Walter. They gave us the edge we were looking for.
Months later we were approached by Bishop Mark King about using three of our songs for a CD of his. We were reluctant at first due to time and money. Once again through hours of prayer the Lord made a way. We began recording in March of 2004 at Robby Meadows Studio Productions. Amazing enough Robby was a born again Christian and he gave us the direction and support we needed. We recorded One Drop Of Blood, Walk By Faith and Holy. After completing the songs we felt the Lord leading us to finish what He had started. Once again the Lord provided the funds that we needed to complete His project. We feel this CD has truly captured the Holy Spirit on each of the tracks. I know you will feel his presents as this CD was written in the valley as well as on the mountaintops. This project was definitely a walk of faith and we dedicate it to the risen one, Jesus Christ!
