Reggie McBride was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 17, 1954, and is widely known for his electric bass playing on albums and live since 1969. Growing up in Detroit put him musically in line with Motown since the beginning of Motown records. He started playing and taking private lessons on guitar and bass at the age of 8.

At 14 yrs old he was sought after by Aretha Franklin and others. In 1970 he was on the road with the Dramatics and James Brown. Then he received a scholarship to attend Berkley School of Music in Boston. But, he received a call from Stevie Wonder in 1973 to come to New York and become a member of his band Wonderlove.

Reggie began recording Stevie's album "Fulfillingness 1st Finale" and tracks on Minnie Riperton's Perfect Angel; Rufus' "Tell Me Something Good" ; and (with) Syreeta Wright. He also traveled on the road with Stevie Wonder.

Continuing on into the 70s he recorded and traveled with Rare Earth, Parliament & Funkadelic (album "Take it to the Stage"), Elton John (albums "21 and 33" and "Little Jeannie"), and Al Jearreau (album "All Fly Home"), and he produced an album named "Lazarus".
