Details:
Riley Bandy is a jazz musician and visionary of global proportions. Listening to him play you experience his soul boundless, his sound luminous, his creativity intuitive and his music superbly intelligent. Riley is one of the best young alto players of today.

Riley Bandy's development in music started at an early age. As one of the San Francisco Bay Area's most talented young jazz artists, Riley's accomplished style and individualism won him numerous awards. These awards include recognition from the NARAS Foundation from a foundation sponsored all-star group. Riley was an IAJE (International Association for Jazz Educators) award recipient in 1996, as well as the featured soloist with the San Francisco State University Jazz Orchestra. Additional accolades include featured performances with the Stanford Jazz Workshop All Stars.

Riley's vast professional experience includes co-leading a jazz quintet along with Jaz Sawyer of Abbey Lincoln Quartet around the San Francisco area with great success. While leading his own groups, Riley has collaborated with many critically acclaimed jazz artists, such as Wynton Marsalis, Roy Hargrove, Cyrus Chestnut, Abbey Lincoln and Betty Carter. Working with these jazz giants has made him an incredibly in-demand player.

In 1997, he came to New York to join jazz diva Abbey Lincoln for the recording of her "Who Used To Dance" album. Upon arrival, Riley decided to move to New York and has been active on the NY scene ever since, leading his own groups around the city. His appearances include clubs such as the Iridium, The Blue Note, Cleopatra's Needle etc. He was featured in Arthur Elgort's "Timeless" article , L'Uomo Vogue Magazine, 30th Anniversary, portraying New York's modern jazz.
