Kristin Rönne, a native of Chicago, began making music at age six, when her father gave her a guitar. As her first teacher, he taught her the music of Bob Dylan and other folk songs of the 60's. She took quickly to the guitar and went on to study with various private instructors, including jazz studies with the renowned Jack Cecchini.
Her somewhat unorthodox parents were socially progressive thinkers, and raised her in a Taoist tradition. They instilled in her a passion for the arts, a sense of responsibility to the world community and a strong love of our mother earth.
As an activist committed to improving the world, Kristin has canvassed for many human rights and environmental organizations including Pirg and Sierra Club. For two years she worked as a field manager for Citizens for a Better Environment.
Today Kristin remains committed to humanitarian causes, women's issues, social unity and the environment. In an effort to further those goals, she has joined ThornRoze Music in its commitment to heal our world through the medium of music.
