Details:
Franz Rothe was professionally trained in flute
at major German conservatories before starting a career as a mathematician.
In North Carolina, he has continued his musical
education with pianist Heather Coltman, John Roberts and flutist Irene Maddox.
He was a participant in the master classes of the
distinguished flutists Trevor Wye and William Bennett.

Thomas Turner has taught piano and composition
for twenty-eight years at several major American universities.
He has performed widely in the USA and Europe,
His own music has been heard in such places
as Wigmore Hall in London and St. Lawrence Center in Toronto.

Turner studied composition with Eugene Weigel, a pupil of Paul Hindemith, and piano with Webster Aitken and other pupils of the great Beethoven exponent Arthur Schnabel.
He has received numerous awards and grants, including the
Hinda Honigman award for composition from the North Carolina Federation
of Music Clubs and ten grants from "Meet the Composer".
In spring 2003, his award-winning composition "Shall I compare thee?" was performed by
the Chicago a cappella in a concert of brilliant new choral works on Shakespeare texts.

Rothe and Turner have been working together since spring of 1992. They have recorded two other CDs:

"Withered Flowers",
featuring Introduction and variations op. 160 by Franz Schubert

"Serenade", with the Serenade op. 41 by L. v. Beethoven, and a transcription of the fantasy pieces op. 73 by Robert Schumann.

Franz has published Sheet music.
