Reese place band started on a whim when Mike Lizarraga decided, betweeen baseball practice at Pasadena City College and working as a restaurant delivery boy, that "it might be fun to learn to play the guitar." Five years later, this spur of the moment diversion evolved into a talented ensemble that brings together a cohesive mix of musical styles. Hard to classify but easy to listen to, the band draws on musical traditions ranging from jam band to rock, jazz, blues, and even funk, traditions that never go out of style.

Together, music veteran James Graham (drums/percussion), experienced pianist Joey Algiers Jr. (keys), guitar genius Rob Gallagher (lead guitar), and Mike Lizarraga (acoustic guitar/vocals) have come from practicing in Mike's parents' backhouse on Reese Place, to playing legendary Hollywood venues like the Whiskey-A-Go-Go, the Viper Room, the Kitting Factory, and BB King's Blues Club. Unlikely origins coupled with a love for music spurred this band to send their cd's all over the country. They have gained recognition from fans in 47 states and even as far as Australia.
