Red Wanting Blue's most recent press release....
Red Wanting Blue To Release New Album
Cleveland, November 17-Alt/rock band Red Wanting Blue released their sixth independent record, Pride: The Cold Lover, this past October, and immediately set off on their first-ever national tour. The new album topped the charts on the Awarestore (www.awarestore.com: largest online retailer of independent music) for four weeks and has been in the top five for almost three months for national Internet sales. The three-month tour in support of the new album covered from Los Angeles to New York and Chicago to Austin. Red Wanting Blue will celebrate the completion of their first national tour at the new House of Blues in Cleveland on Saturday, December 18. Tickets for the all ages show are $10 and local singer/songwriter sensation Kate Voegele opens.
Talented indie-rock producer Ted Comerford produced the record. Comerford has produced some of the best independent bands on the east coast, including Virginia Coalition, Lucky Town, and The Argument. The album was mixed by Paul David Hager, one of the top mixers in the industry that has recently worked with The Dixie Chicks, Shawn Mullins, Letters to Cleo, American HiFi, Avril Lavigne, and the Donnas.
Red Wanting Blue sets themselves apart from the pack with their live show, which is a unique blend of theatrics and emotional rock. The band's tour schedule allows them to keep growing a huge grassroots following and extreme success in the college indie-rock scene. A string of shows on the 2003 Sprite Liquid Mix Tour gave them the opportunity to tour alongside national recording artists O.A.R., The Roots, Robert Randolph, and N.E.R.D. The band has also shared the stage with The Roots, 311, Our Lady Peace, 10,000 Maniacs, Jurassic 5, Cracker, Verve Pipe, and Wyclef.
RWB has also been featured as an unsigned band to watch on Demodiaries.com, as well as on Kings of A&R and Hits Magazine. Their last two albums both debuted at number one nationally on the Aware Records online store, www.awarestore.com. In addition, RWB's song "Audition," from a previous release, was featured in Abercrombie & Fitch stores internationally. They have a long history of giving audiences what they pay for. Their highly explosive live act engages crowds, and their drawing power is unparalleled for an independent band.
