Details:
Come and Get It! is a gumbo of rootsy styles celebrating the diversity of what has become Americana. The Sauce Boss stirs the Blues with a little twang of country, add a pinch of Latin and World Beat rhythms and a splash of rap, cook it all together with a treatment of fine tunesmanship to have a unique and flavorful platter.

The instrumental version of "Four Letter Word" is beautiful. The World Beat of "The Gumbo Song" is an anthem to the cultures of the World community. "Down in the Valley" is an Americana as it gets. The Parrotheads, who have flocked to the Sauce Boss shows since Jimmy Buffett wrote "I Will Play for Gumbo" about him, will love "Locals", "Sun", and "Four-letter Word".

AND THERE'S ALWAYS THE BLUES ON A SAUCE BOSS CD-"Going Back to Florida", "Little Miss Heartbreak", and "I Broke My Heart"-all feature the Sauce Boss' signature slide guitar. "I Broke My Heart" has a literal meaning for the Sauce Boss, who had a heart attack in the middle of recording the CD, along with a quadruple coronary bypass operation. After only six weeks of recovery, he was back on tour, and back in the studio to finish "Come and Get It!"

That Sauce Boss heart was too big to lose. In 2003 Bill "Sauce Boss" Wharton started the non-profit organization called PLANET GUMBO (planetgumbo.org) to help those in need. He and his band mates spend part of their free time at homeless shelters, singing and cooking for the clients. The fans are rallying behind this movement.

"Performing Songwriter" magazine 12/03 DIY says "Wharton rips into solos in the same class as Billy Gibbons or Ry Cooder. Aficionados and casual blues fans alike should appreciate what the Sauce Boss cooks up."

The Sauce Boss tours constantly throughout the Eastern US and Canada, at clubs, festivals, colleges and performing arts halls. And his website--SAUCEBOSS.COM received over 996,000 hits in 2003.
