Current Project: Recently completed third full length CD, Resign to Ideal, recorded and produced by Kramer in New York City.

About SAETA: After years playing and listening to live music together in Detroit, Matt Menovcik and Lesli Wood founded Saeta in 1998 after moving to Seattle.

In 1999, Saeta released its first full-length CD, entitled Burn, mixed by spacerockers Windy and Carl. That year, cellist Bob Smolenski joined the band and Saeta began playing live performances in Seattle.

Within a year, Matt created nine new songs, Bob and Lesli wrote cello and piano arrangements, and in July 2000, the band recorded its second CD, Structure in the Void. Saeta's sound caught the attention of Shimmy-Disc honcho and recording artist Kramer, who mixed and mastered the CD. Structure was released in May 2001 on Recurving Recordings.

In 2001, The Seattle Times featured Saeta in an August profile of the city's best up-and-coming bands. By this time, the band had new songs written by Matt, with music arranged by Lesli and Bob. Kramer offered to record and produce a new album, and in November, Saeta recorded its third album, Resign to Ideal, at Tribeca Recordings in New York. The band was joined in the studio by violinist Brennan Sweet and trumpet player Garth Greenup of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra.
