ROCK: Grunge, ROCK: Punk

Details:
Scoff started out as a duo which consisted of Davi and Wil Pabon, his neighbor, circa 1994. The two recorded a few tapes together but after a while Davi wanted to take Scoff a little further and make it a more complete outlet to express himself. So in 1995 Davi got together with high school friends Mike H. (guitar), Francisco Garcia aka Pancho (drums), Jose Blanco (bass), and Dan the man (lead vocals). They called themselves Half-Eaten-Bread and played live for the first time at their high school talent show where they performed a song called "Why?" that Mike H. had written.

Shortly after their talent show gig Mike H. and Jose Blanco left the group and the remaining members continued as a trio calling themselves Scoff. Davi ended up teaching Dan the basics to playing bass and the rest is history.

Scoff taped almost every rehearsal they ever had and were constantly coming up with new songs and extended jam sessions. They performed at birthday parties, talent shows, water parks, garages, street corners, everywhere you can possibly think of but in 1997 the members of Scoff were headed in different directions and realized that they couldn't keep playing music together. After graduating high school they mutually agreed to disband. Scoff gave their last performance in late 1998 at a party Dan's brother held.

Dozens of tapes and videos with live footage were archived, but poor judgment and carelessness led to the loss of almost all of the band's work.

In 2003 Davi released a compilation album which includes Scoff's rehearsals from 1997-1998. The compilation gives great insight on what Scoff was all about but unfortunately, many hours worth of great recordings will never be heard.
