Details:
Scott Barnes and Company formed in the summer of 2003 in East Lansing, MI. Singer/songwriter Scott Barnes, now nineteen years old, was working on what he thought would be his debut solo album. Instead, he and drummer Shawn Farzam recruited electric guitarist Matt Mitchell and bassist Randy Carlson. At first, the two were just going to help out with recording. However, the four immediately clicked and the rest is history. At their first shows, it appeared as if the band had been playing together for years, feeding off each other and displaying an incredible energy. In the spring of 2004, Randy Carlson moved back to Nashville, TN, making way for bassist Mike Cover, who has been with the band ever since. Cover also looked very comfortable with the band right from the start. "We knew he was a perfect fit when we first played with him," said Scott. The four musicians each bringtheir own style to the table, all contributing to make a very unique sound that people cannot help but notice. Their Voyage EP contains four songs that all fans agree are the band's best works. But none seem to be catching on as much as "Something Of Yours," a song beginning to get radio play in Michigan and the midwest. "I can't believe how much people truly like that song, they are thrilled to hear it at the shows," remarked Scott. The band plans on playing shows whenever and wherever they can, and is sure to gain fans at each of their unique and energetic live performances. No matter where they are playing or who they are sharing the stage with, people cannot help but be brought out of their seats and feel the music of Scott Barnes and Company.
