ALOHA MILES AWAY was born shortly after the events of 9/11 - and in being a resident of Manhattan for thirteen-years, Katsura was affected to the first degree by experiencing both a spiritual and artistic revelation. Like never before, he was inspired to compose songs through his native Hawaiian eyes; he took a shot at producing himself for the very first time; he chose Hawaii as his theme for the project; he personally hand picked the entire production crew; and then he changed his professional stage name from Scott Allan (first, middle name) to plainly Scott Katsura (first, last name).

Katsura succeeds in creating a musical montage representing his Hawaiian culture; his native home in island paradise; his second home in New York City; and his lifestyle of sharing the 'Aloha Spirit'. Katsura hired people who shared the same passion for the production of ALOHA MILES AWAY - Broadway singer David Velarde and jazz pianist Martin Bejerano. In peaceful harmony, Katsura, Velarde and Bejerano have given birth to beautiful songs that are quickly becoming international landmarks. Katsura and ALOHA MILES AWAY are representing a global language of organic simplicity in a wholesome and refreshing way. In Katsura's own words, "Everyone near and far loves Hawaii. Everyone needs to know what the spirit of aloha is all about - sharing, caring, giving, living, family, love.
