His mother played string bass and was into classical and Aretha Franklin. His brothers were into bebop, funk, and everything in-between. Then he and his brothers got the gig with PONCHO SANCHEZ LATIN JAZZ BAND and Scott stuck around for over 12 years, winning a GRAMMY, playing all over the world and getting exposed to all kinds of latin music. Tito, Machito, Chombo Silva, Mongo..... not to mention funk, soul, cumbia, meringue, salsa.....
