Details:
Laura Scarborough grew up a classical pianist in San Antonio, TX.

She moved to Austin where she went to school and completed a degree in music at the University of Texas at Austin.

While in college, she was exposed to a wealth of live music, and she met musicians that encouraged her to "jam and play by ear." She began to take a more free approach to piano playing and spent time listening to the great female jazz singers whose vocal style she was drawn to.

She also spent time exploring different vintage keyboard sounds and effects.

From there, her own song writing and sound developed - a unique blend of classical piano structure with sultry vocals mixed with various keyboard textures and colors.

Her current band in Austin includes Brannen Temple (drums), John Siebenthaler (acoustic bass), and Spencer Gibb (guitar).

Her first release, Chapter One: Desire includes four studio tracks, two live tracks with her current band, and an obscure home 4-track.

The record thematically deals with questioning and the trials of love and life from a woman's eyes.

The music is sexy, haunting, interesting, ethereal, and passionate.
