Details:
After a few years of fronting Accent, then similar group Sudden Urge (both award-winning rock ensembles), Maria began performing solo in and around Buffalo while writing and recording with 1996-born original band (later named In From the Cold) based in Los Angeles. The group featured world renowned drummer (and Buffalo native) Gary Mallaber (Steve Miller Band, Van Morrison, etc.) and ex-Red Hot Chili Pepper guitarist Jack Sherman. Their CD is available for purchase on their mp3 page.
Maria has recently put together a great group of players in Buffalo to help get her songs off the ground. The Maria Sebastian Band now performs a stack of songs from her new Maybe It's Just Me CD that have been screaming for attention over the years as she pursued other projects. Many of them were inspired by her Pop Culture/American Literature studies at the University at Buffalo, The Beat Generation being a backdrop for some. The feel is Modern Pop/Rock with a touch of Americana in the mix.
Maria has won many Buffalo Music Awards and has double-billed with and opened shows for dozens of great national and regional bands while gigging live in Western New York / NYC, Pennsylvania, Nashville and Hollywood, CA.
