sede was born Benjamin Jason Lee on October 30, 1970 barely 10 feet from the spot that his father had been born some 20 years earlier in the small farming town of Dermott, AR. his early musical influence would include his mother (the vocalist and pianist), his father (the guitarist, vocalist, drummer, and band leader), his grandmother (who was told at the tender age of 13 that she was playing piano for her church that day... she had never played piano before in her life.. some 60 years later she still played) and his grandfather (who won the hand of the beautiful young church pianist by serenading her at dusk with his trombone).

sede began writing and performing his own brand of acoustic folk-rock in the early 1990's. he quickly rose to a regional following in the River Valley area of north-west Arkansas but as with all things this too did pass...

during the mid-90's a series of difficulties put an early, howbeit temporary, halt to his musical career. difficulty breeds strength and in sede's case it breeds fervor for expression.

sede spent several years studying with various ethnic sounds and they are still very evident in much of his current repertoire. during the past decade sede has been experimenting with various musical concepts and genres only to return to his roots as an acoustic folk-rock performer.

in 1998 sede graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a bachelors degree in Psychology and a wealth of experiences that serve to enrich his lyrical dialogue. These experiences include a year of intensive independent study of Islam and 5 years of experiencing and studying various religious traditions including Buddism, Christianity, Hindusm, Qabalah, NeoPaganism, Taoism, Wicca, and Zen Buddism.

today sede writes and performs a brand of music that possesses an esoteric flavor and a soul that seems with eternal understanding. a song possesses a life of it's own and as it dances to a listener's ear it speaks from it's soul about the life that we all live everyday.
