Details:
Hey, I got your CD yesterday, listened to it twice in a row. It rocks! The sound is killer, the players are great, and the production rules. Nice package! I was kind of expecting something more straight forward but you guys definitely have made a delicious stew of many styles. While it may be easy for someone to put into a specific catagory (which is a good thing), the project is way more psychedelic, crossing influences and time. Alot of this has to do with the production, oh yeah, and the Hendrix guitar leads. My favorite song thus far is Serenade to a Savage. I also like the freshness and originality in the arrangements, lots of suprises. Hurray!
- Wiley Woods, Stiff Dead Cat

"... a new twist on the raucous, slippery, foot-happy jazz you'd expect to hear at the legendary Cotton Club ... hard to resist " -- The Oregonian

"Sound Advice: Don't let anyone pull the Woolies over your eyes. Get in early on Portland's next hot band... Hot jazz, baby."
-Jonathan Nicholas, The Oregonian

"This Union of Portland journeymen ain't your average attempt to hop on the swing cart. Mixing and matching from the disparate closets of pop, blues and jazz... new take on le jazz hot. With choices ranging from W.C. Handy to Raymond Scott, this is dyed-in-the-wool eclecticism."
-Bill Smith, Willamette Week

"the coolest band I've ever seen!"
-Marv Ross, Ross Productions, Cycle Oregon, Trail Band

"fantasic... amazing... rock solid... sizzling... [Mel Kubik] has a delicious refined sound... delightful talent... Wow! what a voice."
