Details:
In the spring of 1998, Shadow Pointe was formed. The lineup consisted of current members Dave Cornellier, Craig Simmons and Joe Stedman, and then members Chuck Wixsom and Paul Bellos. With the intention of writing as a focus and pulling away from the Âcover sceneÂ, Shadow Pointe quickly got to work. After a few local performances, Chuck left the band and Shadow Pointe was in search of a new lead guitarist.
The newest addition to the band, Paul Mallory, helped push the band back to writing and recording. Shortly afterwards, Shadow Pointe released its first self-titled CD. It included 7 tracks, most notably, ÂNo One and ÂBreatheÂ. After a short run on the local circuit, once again Shadow Pointe was in search of a consistent lead guitarist.
The following 2 years proved very testing to the bands soul. Joe left the band for personal reasons and the lineup was down to three. New member, Chris Forte, brought new energy to the project but Shadow Pointe still lacked a lead guitarist. With the loss of Chris in a tragic accident, the remaining members chose to take a long overdue hiatus.
After three months, Dave and Craig got back to work. Paul Bellos had moved onto other projects, leaving Shadow Pointe a 2-piece. Clearing their minds and trying to regain their focus, they got back on track and began writing for their now long overdue 2nd CD. Still in search of a solid lead guitarist, the going was very slow.
Then by chance, through friends, Shawn Maschino filled the long sought position of lead guitars. Joe returned to the lineup and Paul Delasco also was added to the mix. Suddenly, ÂReason Beyond Acceptance (Shadow Pointe's 2nd CD) quickly took form. With aggressive practice and writing sessions, the CD was completed in less than 12 months. With 17 tracks and over and hour of music, ÂReason Beyond Acceptance can easily be labeled a stepping stone for Shadow Pointe's future.
Shadow Pointe is currently preparing to tour extensively in support of its latest Release ÂReason Beyond AcceptanceÂ. For listings of shows check out www.shadowpointe.com
