The Genesis of Night Trap

Dickie Christopher & Chip Sharratt - Singer/Songwriters

Minneapolis born Chip Sharratt and Dickie Christopher combined forces in the early '90's and wrote, recorded and copyrighted over 100 songs in three years from their basement. Opportunity presented itself when a gifted Minneapolis producer named James Walsh (Gypsy) invited them into his recording studio in 1994. From this mutual friendship, their first collaborative CD, "Petals & Thorns", was born. In the short time since, Dickie and Chip have received eight national songwriting recognitions including a 2001 John Lennon award for "Promise Land" and two Billboard song contest Honorable Mentions for "Mountain Pines" and "Before I'm Gone" (2004). They've also been featured as a "must hear unsigned band" at audiohighway.com in Burbank, and released their second CD, "borderline breakdown" in 2001. The title track "Borderline Breakdown" has been featured on PickTheHits.com, and four great CD tracks have been promoted to the film industry by IndustrialSoundworks.com in Burbank. Chip and Dickie have recently had six songs featured in the monthly artist/band competition called MakeAStar.com out of L.A., and made the final bracket of competition once with their classic song "California Morning". The "Night Trap" band-members gelled when they first rehearsed ten years ago, and they've remained solid, gaining national and international respect throughout the promotion and internet airplay of both CD's.
