Details:
Reidin was born in County Cork, Ireland into a family of three sisters and six brothers, a family of singers, writers, artists, and poets. Encouraged from a very early age, by her parents, she began to develop an eclectic and extensive repertoire of songs. Along the way, Reidin adopted her father's traditional style of singing known as "sean nos." Losing her beloved brother Tiger in a tragic accident in September of 2000 inspired Reidin to put words and music together. Her lyrics reflect who she is; creative and generous, with a wild sense of humor, unpredictable and always insightful. On meeting Reidin, one is struck by her vast knowledge and passion for life. Reidin lives in the Catskill Mountains and is presently working with her daughter Shireen on their second album.

Shireen, also born in County Cork Ireland, moved to the United States with her family when she was four years old. Summers in Ireland reinforced her Irish heritage and culture, influencing a voice that lends itself to many styles. She can sing both Irish traditional and Contemporary music with equal ease. In 2002, Shireen represented New York State in the International Rose of Tralee Festival in County Kerry, Ireland, where she sang "September", written by Reidin, to a television audience of over three million people. She currently resides in Boston.

In January 2004, with the release of their first album, "Tiger's Island", this mother-daughter duo introduced themselves as Shirae (shur-ray). "Tiger's Island" is an album full of raw emotion, chilling harmonies, and captivating lyrics. The original words and music, by Reidin, are woven into a new and vibrant sound that takes you on an evocative musical journey.
