Silent Mind spawned from the visions of singer/songwriter Jamie Bright. He was raised in a household surrounded with records from wall to wall and stories to go with everyone. Jamie was constantly having his ears bombarded with the sounds of musics greatest artists. He was constantly exposed to an eclectic selection of music from jazz to classical, and funk to rock music. Jamie started playing guitar and immediately knew he had found his calling. Performing live on stage with bands after only four months of picking up the guitar, Jamie aggressively persued his desires to play live with bands and other musical ensembles as much as possible. From 16 on Jamie was always on stage performing weekly with various groups.
Jamie decided to take his dreams in a suitcase, a few instruments and his cartons of records to Berklee College of Music only to be surprised by all the incredible talent he felt surrounding him. With so much talent around Jamie began to explore what music was truly all about for him. With jazz theory and amazing technical abilities everywhere Jamie began to wonder what made him think he was any good at music. He searched in many realms of music to get a better understanding of what music was for him. Interning in many different musical enviornments when home from college Jamie seeked knowledge from every venue available. Touring with his band on weekends he worked weekdays at recording studios, giving private instruction, and in New York City's corporate world such as Fox News and MTV Networks doing music supervision and editing. Jamie spent four years at Berklee receiving a degree in Production and Engineering while taking a number of courses in Performing and Music Business.
Immediately after college Jamie was hired to tour with Lava Records artist Tony C and The Truth. After an intense practice period to catch Jamie up on the music, he hopped on a tour bus traveling the east coast from Montreal to Florida playing lead guitar for this band every night. After a leg of the tour ended Jamie realized that he had found the understanding of music he had been seeking all those years within himself. Truly inspired by his experience on the road and having the desire to share it with many he began drafting his first songs. Working with many other artists through production Jamie found he was ready to devote himself to his own music. Constantly finding new influences and always aiming to improve Jamie is finally fearlessly doing what he desires. Writing the stories that came with many learning experiences through life, this young 23 year old is on a mission. Jamie is continually on his road to discovery of himself as a musician playing music for himself. He has recently returned from living and touring in Europe and has returned to the U.S. with his debut album and a self-promoted and booked national tour.
