âTravelsâ is the first solo album of Marc Lendfers. Originally it is inspired by the movementpractice of the 5Rhythms® by Gabrielle Roth. This album contains 2 waves. This album is a journey through different landscapes. The electronic soundscapes and deep voices in combination with traditional drums and percussion take this music out of the traditional way of percussive music without losing the power of it. That combination gives this album itâs high energy and the strong character. The tracks âtravelsâ and âon the boatâ bring your flow into a deep and rich landscape and the over 10 minutes lasting tracks âsurrenderâ and âinto the unknownâ have a powerfull tribal trancy energy. The title of this album is representive for the journey this music invites you to.
Marc Lendfers is originally a drummer. For this album he playes all the instruments himself, did the vocals and produced the album. He is a 5Rhythms®-teacher located in Amsterdam. In the late nineties he played in the band Grumpyhead. A cross-over band between rock, dance and big beats. Although the music on his first solo album has nothing to do with that music, you still can feel that same energy.
This music is inspired by Gabrielle Roth and the Mirrors, Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno and many others.
