Details:
Experience the horror of the Crimson Executioner's revenge in "Sheer Bloody Lunacy!," a new musical adapted from "Bloody Pit of Horror," a movie in the public domain.

This original musical has it all: horror, comedy, singing and dancing, lingerie models, blood, half-naked men, fight scenes, hilarious choreography, weird effects, PSYCHOVISION, and a ludicrous plot from an Italian horror movie that only the Overtime Theater would dare to adapt for its own nefarious ends.

The time is Summer 1977: The summer of the Son of Sam; one year after the American Bicentennial; one month before Elvis dies; five months before âSaturday Night Feverâ is unleashed; and six months before the Sex Pistols tour America.

"Sheer Bloody Lunacy!" tells the story of a group of models who stumble into the castle while on a photo shoot. The castle's owner, an obsessed bodybuilder and ex-action movie star named Travis Anderson, disdains any contact with the outside world and its "inferior humans." Soon the 300-year-old spirit of the Crimson Executioner is awakened, and the beautiful people begin to meet their gory demise....

Music composed by Phillip Luna, and lyrics written by Jon Gillespie. Stage adaptation by Jon Gillespie and John Poole, directed by Charles Barksdale and John Poole, and choreographed by Charles Barksdale. Cast album engineered by Phillip Luna. Cover photo by Desiree Schanding.

Cast: Chris Berry (Travis Anderson), Sophia Bolles (Suzy), Michael Burger (Raoul), Christopher Charles (Rick), Cary Farrow (Henchman #2), Cassie Moczygemba (Nancy), Leo Moreno (Ghost Man), Rigel Nunez (Annie), John Poole (Narrator, Perry on the cast album), Desiree Schanding (Dermott the Photographer), Priscilla Stanley (Kinojo), Kristopher Thomas (Perry in the stage production), Lucia Villanueva (Ghost Woman), Christie Walheim (Edith), Dave Watts (Henchman #1), and Chuck Wigginton (Max Parks).

Reviews of "Sheer Bloody Lunacy":

"Go see "Sheer Bloody Lunacy" at the Overtime Theatre. The one-act musical, which is loosely based on the 1965 Italian horror film, "The Bloody Pit of Horror," runs until Nov. 8. It is a mix between "My Fair Lady," "Rocky Horror Picture Show," with a little "Holy Grail" and just a dash of gay porn." - Taylor Reynholds, UTSA Paisano newspaper

"For those who donât mind leaving pretentiousness â not to mention good taste â at the door, the Overtime Theaterâs latest, "Sheer Bloody Lunacy," makes for one hell of a bloody good time." - Clint Hale, San Antonio Current newspaper

"The cast is pretty much excellent. Everyone has the winking/campy mode down pat, but Christie Walheim and especially Chris Berry go beyond that. Throwing himself into a very physical and vocal role, Berry goes wild in a way that sells the material even when there's not much to sell. He's easily as memorable as Mickey Hargitay, and that's a compliment." - Michael Barrett, San Antonio Express-News newspaper
