Details:
Singin' Steve's SmartSongs CDs are popular with children, teachers and parents across America. His brand new CD, "Billy The Bean", tells the story of a little bean named Billy and how with the help of his garden friends, and some very singable songs, Billy grows into a big, green plant. Singin' Steve's other SmartSongs CDs include "Alphabet Town & More Alphabet Town", whose narrative and 16 "sing along" songs help prepare a child for reading. "Numberville & More Numberville", whose 16 songs introduce a child to numbers, numerals, and counting. And "Learningland & Rainbow Village", whose catchy tunes and physical activities introduce preschoolers to each of their five senses, colors and shapes. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University (BFA 1966) Steve's children's books include Scaredy Dog, published by Alfred A Knopf. His "grown up" songs include Here "Comes The Freedom Train" recorded by both Merle Hagard and Dolly Parton, to commemorate America's bicentennial,"The Lady In The Harbor" for the Emmy award winning documentary by Ken Burn's, The Statue of Liberty, and "My Small Town" for the award winning official video of the Calgary Winter Olympics. When not writing songs and recording, Steve spends his time playing golf and performing his songs to children and their families.
