Sydney based singer/songwriter Isac Cole has been performing & recording music for over 15 years.

Isac first picked up a guitar when he was 11 years old upon hearing Prince's 'Batdance' and never put it down. He spent his teenage years learning how to play every instrument he could get his hands on including the Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keys and exploring his unique voice whilst obsessively listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, David Bowie & the Smashing Pumpkins.

In 2004 Isac moved to Sydney to play guitar for a major label alternative rock band, with highlights including touring the US & the UK, and supporting artists such as NIN & Sonic Youth.

Although Isac feels that he has finally acheived his greatest success - recording and releasing his debut EP.

â'Iâve been so fortunate throughout my career - been to some incredible places, played on the same bill with some amazing artists and met some of the most talented and inspiring people along the way. These incredible experiences inspired me to finally focus on my own material and expression..'

Isac decided to give his own material complete focus late 2007, when he began playing shows all over Sydney - just him and an acoustic guitar.

"It was a beautiful period, the audience reactions were incredibly positive
and gave me greater confidence in my abilities as a songwriter and solo artist".

Early 2008 Isac began playing his material with a full band, the reaction was once again extremely encouraging and gave Isac the inspiration to take his material to the next level - releasing a recording.

Isac has just completed his debut EP which he recorded in his home studio.
Recorded and produced by himself, Isac also played every instrument on the EP.

âI loved the recording experience - being able to do everything on my own was a great way to reconnect with parts of myself and artistic voices that I haven't been in tune with for a number of years. I'm so pleased with how it turned out.â

This is only the first half of Love or Nothing. The second half will be released next year.

The EP has several moods and styles. Kicking it off with the rock track opener Love or Nothing then moving into the more moody Wide Eyed. Third track Peak & Release is stomping funk rock before moving into a more delicate and emotive side of the EP with Enough That You Are Here, then the uplifting and touching closing track From The Heart Of Another 'You draw circles with circles - I sculpt my emotions with sound'.

When listening to Love or Nothing it is obvious that Isac is enjoying the space to be himself, and clearly more concerned with expressing himself than trying to fit in with current music trends.

âOf course I would love for lots of people to enjoy my songs, but I spent too long doing what other people wanted me to do musically and worrying what everyone else thinksâ.

The plan for Isac at the moment is a simple one - keep playing, keep recording and stay true to who he is. Most importantly for him is to keep in tune with those artistic voices he tried to ignore.

'When I was contemplating the life changing decision of staying in a band that was going really well, or leaving and starting from scratch with my own material someone said to me 'Would you rather play music you don't connect with to 500 people or your own songs to 5?' that was what made me leave - I realised that was what I wanted. There is nothing like the feeling of people connecting with these songs that mean so much to me.'
