I started playing music in 1962 at eight years old, learning the basic chords on an acoustic guitar. The Beatles were still on the rise - the British charts were still dominated by crooners like Perry Como and Dean Martin. However, all that was about to change as the Fab Four took to the international stage.... At nine I did my first concerts, dressed in a smart, grey Beatles suit (with matching black velvet collar) and an ice-blue electric guitar that was three sizes too big for me! I played in front of thousands of people - even at that early age - finding that music and performing was my bag...baby! The early steps turned into bigger ones as I formed several high school bands and honed my trade as a guitarist and performer. We especially enjoyed playing at the U.S. Air Force bases throughout Scotland and at that time (1969-1970) found the American audiences a great crowd to perform to! I answered a "Singer Wanted" advertisement in the British weekly music paper, "Melody Maker" and got the job and flew to Germany to work with a R & B Soul Band in 1973. My venture to Germany landed me several hits - among them the song which would be the birth of Disco - "Shame Shame Shame" which sold 6 million copies throughout Europe back in 1975! I was a Star and didn't even know it! Countless studio recording sessions followed with radio and television appearances to boot. From these studio experiences I produced some 7 solo albums...some sold well..others did not. Today I have transferred my entire musical catalog (150 plus songs) over to North America, by copyright. In my opinion, the USA is where the true Heart of Rock and Roll lies!
